Fellow Runner,
If you have never been a member of a running club before,
you may consider joining a little daunting. Running clubs can be competitive
but are also a very sociable and enjoyable experience. Don’t be put off with
the mistaken belief that you have to be a good runner to join the club we do
cater for all levels. Clayton has members with a wide range of age, ability and
commitment. Many of our members just enjoy the social side of running and
maintaining their own fitness levels. We aim to be a friendly and inclusive
club and welcome runners of all standards, fast or slow, beginner and returning

By far the biggest benefit of joining Clayton Le Moors
Harriers is the support and encouragement that you will receive from fellow
club members. It is also an opportunity to meet people with similar interests
and add even more enjoyment to the pleasure of running. We are very proud of
our history and achievements but with the constant hard work and commitment of
the committee and the contribution from the members, we strive to continue with
our success for many years to come.
Joining the Club – why not try us out for free first!
All you need to do is turn up at one of the many organised
sessions that are on offer: Summer training nights on Tuesday and Thursday,
check our website for details of times and directions on how to get there: Clayton le moors harriers training
Most of our training sessions finish off with a trip to the
local pub for a few drinks and a chance to chat and chance to find out what’s
happening.
We have members that compete in most running disciplines:
road, cross-country, fell and track.
If you decide to join Clayton it’s not expensive at a cost
of £25 per year for a senior member with reduced rates for juniors and
associated membership. When you consider the cost of health club membership at
average of £20/30 per month this is excellent value.
