CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
2007
MARL PITTS X-C 15TH
DEC
DOWN TO THE WIRE
Congratulations to Paul Thompson on winning the
overall club championships. Going into the last race of the series there were
only two points separating the leading three runners. Andy Stubbs led from Paul
and myself but with this tough x-c course it would test both strength and
technical ability.
The long season took its toll and due to an on going
calf injury I pulled out after the first of three laps. The one point
separating Paul and Andy was snatched away as Gary Shaw spoiled Stubsy’s party
by splitting the two, Paul finished 3rd Clayton counter behind Ian
Greenwood and Phil Hall, Gary 4th with Andy finishing 5th.
A fitting result I think and a great end to the
season.
Thank you to everybody who took part in the series
of races and to the race selection committee, statistician Mark Nutter, Martin Brady
and Pete Billington for getting the info to you all in good time via the web
and newsletter.
