Pendle Forest Orienteers Local Events 2010

Pendle Forest Orienteers are running Saturday morning Local events and will run in the same format:

Registration will be open between 10am and 12 noon (so you can arrive anytime in those two hours), with starts from 10:30am until 12noon.

A White, Yellow, Orange and a Technical course will be available. These cater for all abilities. The technical course will be a different format at each event to maximise the features of the area as well as the imagination of the planner. Sometimes the Technical course may be replaced by a Light Green Course. All events and courses will use SportIdent electronic timing.

Course	Description
White courses	1.0-1.5km.Easy -all on paths/tracks
Yellow courses	1.5-2.5km.Fairly easy.Controls on line features [paths/tracks/ditches/streams, etc] Easy controls just off paths
Orange courses	2.5-3.5km.A little harder than yellow.Controls mainly on line features, some route choice, some controls away from line features
Technical courses	approx 3.0-4.0km.For more experienced competitors. Technically harder than Orange.More details about exactly what the course entails available at registration on the day or from the organiser in advance.

The events will cost £1.50 for juniors and £2.50 for seniors. "Dibber" hire is available if needed. For seniors there is a £1 hire charge. No charge for junior "dibber" hire. There is a £30.00 charge for a lost "dibber".

Sat 10th April	Town and Country Event. Rossendale. (NOTE CHANGE OF DATE.)
Sat 8th May	Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen. Permission pending.
Sat 22nd May	Hameldon Woods, Hapton Nr Accrington. Permission pending.
Sat 12th June	Staghills Woods, Waterfoot, Rossendale. Permission pending.
26th June	Peel Park Accrington. Permission pending
10th July	Marl Pits, Rawtenstall. Permission pending.
